EVs gain speed
Rosie Travel Group has taken delivery of Fiji’s first ever fleet of electric tourist coaches.
Launching the fleet, Tourism Minister Viliame Gavoka said the Rosie Electric Vehicles
(EV) have turned the Fijian sun into a limitless source of clean mobility, powering vehicles
that carry guests across the country without a single drop of fossil fuel. Rosie Travel
says the wide-body coach liners will provide a zero pollution, quiet and smooth ride for
customers, are fast charging with a 300-kilometer range, have ample luggage space, and
feature luxurious interiors designed to Australian standards.
Earlier this year, another ground-transport provider, Tewaka, added four 7-seat electric
vehicles and charging stations to its fleet. Tewaka says the MIFA 9 Electrical Vehicles
have a decent range of 435km when fully charged.
Kalavata with Malia
Guests at the InterContinental Fiji
Golf Resort & Spa, Grand Pacific
Hotel Suva and Holiday Inn Suva
can now take a little bit of Fiji home
with them, with the hotel’s ‘Kalavata’
collection of nightwear. Designed
by local fashion house Malia,
the collection features matching
pyjama sets for men, women and
children, along with soft island-
inspired bathrobes and scrunchies.
