“Magic is an art form that can touch every sense; it can be created without language barriers, and I hope that when people see a magic show, they get to really know me and where I come from and become part of the magic of life.”

Fiji can expect to see an international magician perform wonders at the Fiji Fringe Festival.

Jordan Rooks plans to impress local audiences with his acts of making the impossible, possible.

The Las Vegas magician’s passion came at the early age of 13 when, after a magician wouldn’t reveal his trick, he was determined to recreate it with his own twist. He succeeded, and returned the next day to impress the magician with his own trick. This was the beginning of a lifelong passion for the art of magic.

You may have heard of one of the greatest entertainers to perform in Las Vegas, David Copperfield, Well Rooks has consulted for him.  The magician has been performing for 18 years internationally and at fringe festivals since 2018. He says: “Every Fringe festival has a different community and vibe, but one thing that is constant is that they are all family.

“One of the coolest parts of Fringe is that you truly never know what you are going to see, and some of the most creative artists and shows come from them,” he said.

“What happens at Fringe can be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, or it can lead to a residency of shows and continue to change lives; to have the Fiji Festival be able and willing to promote events all over the world is pretty incredible.”

The show in Fiji will be a magical theatrical play built for a Broadway or Las Vegas-style theatrical show. The best part- you can enjoy it with your whole family as it is suitable for all ages.

And the magician who has travelled to some of the most exotic parts of the world and grown to love culture, food, and people, is excited to taste Fijian local delicacies, explore the beach, and meet the people of Fiji.

“I believe there’s magic in the world around us, and what makes each place special is worth exploring to the fullest.”

Catch Jordan Rooks’ performances at the Fiji Gymnasium, Suva on 27th & 28th of February and on 1st, 2nd and 3rd of March this year from 5.00 pm to 5.45 pm.

Tickets are available at the Fiji Sports Council office at the gym.
