“Come with an open heart and mind, and you will leave a little lighter,” Peni (Ben) Masirewa says of his upcoming gig at the Fiji Fringe Festival.

The talented guitarist intends to use a variety of guitar styles to transport his audience on a journey of tranquillity and surprises during his upcoming Festival gig.

“I’m definitely playing some original music, so expect that, but definitely be ready to experience an intimate show, with music that’s really different from stuff people are regularly exposed to via their algorithm or radio,” he promises.

“I’m playing some progressive guitar music, lo-fi, and ambient soundscapes,” he said.

If you’ve had a stressful week, Ben’s genre creates a sound that relaxes, chills and create positive emotion.

Of the Fiji Fringe Festival, Masirewa says, “I’m excited to see all the different artists show up, and create an atmosphere, express themselves, and share in the joy of self-expression.

“I think I had a massive grin on my face. Fringe festivals are special and very different experiences; I’m ecstatic at the prospect of people here being able to share in it.”

The guitarist’s plan is “no plan at all,” he says. “I’m just going to be vulnerable and be myself, and the music will lead people to whatever they need to be feeling in the moment.”

The artist has a few gigs booked in Australia next month, so watch out for him there, but in the meantime, book fast for his Suva show.
