Page 5 - Fiji Traveller Issue 2
P. 5
Bula
Welcome to the second issue of Fiji Traveller.
In these pages we share stories from less-known destinations (Bula
Dreketi!), deeper experiences at a well-known pilgrimage site for sun
worshippers (hello Malamala), and rediscover some old favourites such as
the newly-reopened Fiji Museum.
We visit Fiji’s adventure capital, Deuba/Pacific Harbour, and historic
Nausori in our neighbourhood guides, and venture a little farther afield, to
a very special fish market in Japan.
In February, the inaugural Fiji Fringe Festival will be staged in Suva, and
in this issue we meet the powerhouse behind that–and many of Suva’s
other exciting events–Sharleen Ali. You will also read about some of the
travel industry’s quiet achievers, a trailblazer who has taken his Fijian-
brand of environmental and social activism and leadership all over the
world, and musicians, entrepreneurs, dreamers and dive masters!
We hope above all, Fiji Traveller inspires you to get out and explore.
Don’t forget to visit us online, where you will find our frequently-updated
events guides and much more.
Travel well,
