Fiji Airways has added two new ATR 72-600 aircraft to its fleet, enhancing connectivity across Fiji and the South Pacific.

The first aircraft arrived on December 29, 2024, and the second on January 5, 2025.

These 68-seat planes will primarily serve regional routes, particularly in Northern Fiji, and increase capacity on domestic services like Nadi-Suva and Labasa.

Fiji Airways CEO Andre Viljoen emphasised that the expansion supports growing demand for domestic travel and improves accessibility and efficiency for passengers, especially those connecting domestic and international flights.

“These two new ATR aircraft are a significant investment in Fiji’s domestic connectivity. They are an important part of our commitment to providing comfortable and efficient travel options for our passengers and offering greater connectivity between our islands. This fleet expansion will also help us continue to meet the growing demand for domestic travel, ensuring that we can provide increased capacity where it’s needed most.”

Meanwhile Fiji Link, the domestic subsidiary of Fiji Airways, has introduced new uniforms for its staff. The updated uniforms align with Fiji Airways’ branding, creating a consistent and professional look across both divisions.

The new ATR aircraft will be deployed on several routes.
