Nellie, Daisy and Lou form a rebellious alliance at a 1954 island institution for delinquent girls. Their friendship empowers them against the system until the matron’s tactics threaten their bond. We Were Dangerous is the directorial debut of Josephine Stewart-Te Whiu, from a screenplay by Maddie Dai. It stars Rima Te Wiata, Erana James, Nathalie Morris and Manaia Hall. Taika Waititi and Carthew Neal serve as executive producers.
