On the serene Suncoast of Rakiraki, the Golden Point Resort offers an unexpected fusion of flavours that makes it a beacon of culinary excellence.
Known for its breathtaking views and relaxing accommodation, the resort offers one of the most extensive menus in Fiji, featuring an array of delectable seafood dishes.
But it is the authentic Lebanese cuisine crafted by the resort’s director, Rachel Hachache Mishra, that really makes it stand apart.
Rachel grew up surrounded by the warmth of hospitality. Born in Lebanon, she migrated to New Zealand in 1986, where her father opened a Lebanese restaurant that became a family affair. After moving to Fiji with her husband Sunny Mishra, Rachel co-founded Golden Point Resort in 2010.
Golden Point’s idyllic location and Rachel’s desire to share her love for Lebanese cuisine led to the introduction of an authentic Lebanese menu, influenced by her paternal grandmother’s recipes.
Rachel’s passion for delicious and healthy food is evident in menu favourites like fattoush, baba ghanouj (charred eggplant dip), tabbouleh (parsley and tomato salad), hummus, pita breads, ma’amoul, and a selection of meat and seafood dishes. The menu also features shawarma beef and chicken, and guests have the option of enjoying shisha (argileh) on-site.
Both in-house guests and outside visitors can savour this unique culinary experience. If you are keen to indulge in a Lebanese mezza (banquet), a minimum of six people is required, with bookings requested at least two days in advance.
Rachel’s invitation to visit is enthusiastic. “Life is an adventure, go and discover it! I love people to feel a great vibe when entering our restaurant – culture, love, and warmth. Full of hospitality and friendliness.”
